EINARSSON, Mindy Daniel

EINARSSON, Mindy Daniel

At 12:50 am on January 3rd, 2019, at the age of 66, after a long battle with cancer, Mindy Daniel Einarsson went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Born in Vancouver on September 21,1952, Mindy (Daniel) grew up in the Okanagan, lived many years in Vancouver and Alberta. He had 3 great loves – Jesus, music, and humour; all of which brought joy to many people. Mindy began playing guitar in his early teens and was rarely seen without one. As a young man, Mindy was awarded a scholarship to the Grant McEwan School of Music in Alberta, and aspired to be a session jazz musician. However, when he was a child, he suffered sexual abuse at the hands of many adults. Because of these horrific acts, Mindy was unable to achieve his dreams and his life was forever impacted. In 1989, Mindy joined his church band mates on a tour of Europe, primarily in the Iron Curtain countries and returned home with stories of Gods’ intervention, how the music touched people, and how he was deeply affected by what he saw and experienced. Mindy was very proud of the 10 years he worked as the concierge at the Admiralty building in Vancouver. Mindy is deeply missed by his sister's Susan Einarsson and Taylore Einarsson as well as his cousins and many, many friends. Mindy’s jamming with God now.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Crossroads Hospice Society in Port Moody, BC.

Sue, Taylor, Edna and extended family,
It was a shock, first to hear of Mindy's cancer and then of his passing.
I think back to all those times we played our guitars together and all the times as kids, we laughed, ran like crazy and watched the clouds drift across the sky, never knowing or caring that one day it would come to this.
I know we lost touch over the years, but whenever I would think back those times we jammed together and were just kids being kids...there was always a smile for those good times as friends and neighbors.

I am sitting here looking at a picture of Mindy when he was in my class in grade 10.
I am saddened to see his picture now in 2019 and that he had suffered with cancer.
I always remembered him as a gentle good student as i am sure he was a good brother to the two of you. Remember his humour and his music.
