DUNCAN, D’Arcy Alexander
April 22 1927–May 3, 2011.

D’Arcy passed away peacefully in his sleep at the age of 84, having spent four days with family at his side in Kelowna General Hospital.

Survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Joyce (nee Carlson), 3 daughters Kathy (Jeff) Reimer, Pat Duncan and Kelly (Brad) McIntosh, and 2 beautiful granddaughters, Kerriann & Alexandra Reimer. D’Arcy was pre-deceased by his parents Victor (1967) & Hazel (1981) Duncan.

D’Arcy had a passion for aviation from a very early age, making his way through the ranks of Air Cadets in Alberta and BC, obtaining many medals, including competitive sharpshooting, and accreditations. Serving in the RAF reserves his interest in aviation was a lifelong love affair well known to his friends and family. D’Arcy was educated at the University of Oklahoma (Geology) and spent several years working and travelling in the northern regions of BC and Alberta. D’Arcy and Joyce married in 1955 and after the first two daughters, it was time to stay closer to home. In the mid 60’s he changed directions beginning a highly successful sales career in the musical instrument industry, most prominently as VP Sales for CBS Musical Instruments, Canadian Division. Throughout his life D’Arcy was also passionate about community service being a member of the Vancouver Rotary Club, the Royal Canadian Legion, Peachland (lifetime member), the Peachland Food Bank, the City of Peachland, to name a few, earning many service awards, honors and recognition for his contributions. D’Arcy was also a very humble man and directed that there be no service. Above all, D’Arcy was a devoted family man and friend, highly respected, loved and will be missed by many.
