DUMONTET, Roland "Rolly" Paul Victor
August 27, 1932 - January 3, 2012.

Roland Dumontet, at the age of 79, died peacefully on January 3, 2012 at the Kelowna General Hospital. He was surrounded by his family.

He is survived by his loving wife of fifty seven years, Patricia; his children, Lew (Jane), Ross (Veronica), Susan, Paul (Christianne); his ten grandchildren, Jesse, Sean, Leslie (David), Andrew (Kaili), Bryant, Eryn, Elizabeth, Braden, Danae,Carolynne; two great grandchildren, Aiden and Chase; brothers, Norman (Elizabeth), Keith (Josie) and numerous nieces and nephews. Roland was predeceased by his daughter Barbara (1982) and son Kirk (1958).

Rolly grew up in Winnipeg, MB. He obtained his journeyman electrician papers at the CNR in Transcona, MB. He married Patrica Fleming in 1955 and they had six children. In 1963 the family moved to Thompson, MB where Rolly worked in Real Estate. In 1975 the family moved to Penticton, BC where Rolly pursued his true passion of gardening. He retired in 1996 from the Penticton School District after working for 14 years as an electrician and then a custodian. He and Pat remained in Penticton and then moved to West Kelowna, BC in 2006.

A memorial mass will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 14, 2012 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 2547 Hebert Road, West Kelowna. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or a charity of your choice.
