DI MARCELLO, Mirella Maria

Mirella, surrounded by her family went to be with the Lord on March 4, 2018 at the age of 54. Survived by her loving family, daughters Anita (Shaun) Kohut, Christina (Trent) Beaudin; grandchildren Donna, Vincent, Dezarae and Enrico; mother Rita Gemin; brothers Attilio (Josefina) Gemin, Gianfranco (Julie) Gemin. Sadly, predeceased by her husband Harry in 2014, granddaughter Angela in 2010 and father Rino in 2008.

Mirella will be remembered for being a loving daughter, wife, mother, sister and Nonna. She devoted her life to caring for her family. Her positive spirit brought love and cheer to all she met. Mirella was a hard worker with a huge heart and immense compassion for others. She will be sadly missed by her beloved family, friends and all who knew her.

Prayers will be recited on Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at 7:00 pm and a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at 10:00 am both at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 1077 Fuller Ave., Kelowna, BC.

To Mirella all the Gemins and diMarcellos, to grow up in the Okanagan and the Kelowna area in the 60s and 70s was the best. Being Italian and European we are the Mediterranean diet not just your store. We were very close in high school just as I was with many of my Italian orchard friends. I am so sorry for your loss as my brother Pierre just passed away. You are both so young, we were going to run the vineyards and orchards and delis of this city. It has taken a moment for us to process the passing of Mirella. Such a shock since she was always such a positive, optimistic, happy person. Dear Rita Attiglio, Gianfranco, Anita, Christina and families, our hearts broke when we heard of the passing of our dear friend Mirella. She always greeted you with a smile and giggle. A very genuine person who was ready to help anyone. Mirella adored her family and we had lots of chats about all of them. I was so sorry to hear about the passing of sweet Mirella. I will always remember how kind she was to me whenever I saw her. I especially remember traveling with the Italian Children's group to Nova Scotia and how she was like a big sister to me. My daughters will remember her as the lovely woman who read the Christmas story at the Italian Dinner. We are so sorry for your great loss.

It is hard to believe that Mirella has passed away. Her smile lit up Valley First, she always had a great big smile and a positive outlook and word. She was a wonderful person who was so proud of her daughters and grandchildren. She basked in the glow of her family and it showed.
