DE FREITAS, Fernando

Fernando de Freitas, 53, of Kelowna, BC, died on August 3, 2018. He was born on October 4, 1964 in
Castlegar, BC.

Fernando grew up in Castlegar. He worked as a construction worker in Vancouver, went to school in Nelson, BC and became a welder. Fernando moved to Oakville Ontario and worked in the Ford Plant for about 3 years, then moved back to Kelowna where he worked as a welder and made many friends.

Fernando is survived by his parents Manuel and Maria, sister and brother-in-law, niece and nephew and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 11, 2018 at 1:00 pm at the Springfield Funeral Home, 2020 Springfield Road, Kelowna, BC, V1Y 5V8.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Alzheimer's Association of BC, 300

This news is so terribly sad for me. I have known Fernando for many, many years. Worked security at the Boogie Bash together and at several AIM events as well or at least till he would take my radio away from me. Lol. He was such a loving and caring man and will always have a place in my heart and he will never be forgotten.
