Obituaries

On June 15, 2018 Joyce Elizabeth Daechsel (nee Johnson) went to be with the angels. Born September 22, 1935 in Kipling, Sask. to parents George and Bessie Johnson. Joyce is survived by her beloved husband of 61 years, Lou and her four children: Tim (Patty), Brenda (Dan) Paige, Barb Thomas and Pati (David) Aoki. Seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Joyce is also survived by her brother Cliff (Ivy) and predeceased by her brother Stan.
In 1957 Joyce and Lou moved to Penticton from Regina Sask. The last 32 years were spent on their Westbench property over looking Okanagan Lake amongst the cherry trees, which were the happiest times for Joyce. She loved to spend hours in her sewing room on many projects for her family and was an amazing baker. Joyce worked at the El Rancho Restaurant in the early 70

  To the whole Daechsel family. I wish to pass on my deepest sympathy and condolences. Your wife and Mother was always quite a character and I always enjoyed many chin wagging conversations during my days at Super Valu. She was a strong and charismatic woman that placed true values in all her children and surely her grandchildren. You are surely proud of her and understandably.
