CUILLERIER (SPOONER), Maurice Romeo

Passed away peacefully at Kelowna General Hospital on December 19, 2017. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather and despite the challenges he had over the past couple of years his eyes always lit up with a smile when family and friends came to see him. He leaves behind his wife Glori Rutkowski, children David Spooner (Marlene), Dianne Cuillerier (Sharkey), Danny Cuillerier, and Dean Cuillerier (Rhona), grandchildren Jennifer, Laura, Kelley, Kim, Chris, Ally, Andrea, Alex and great grandchildren Evan, Madison, Tyler, Logan, James, Erik, Emmeline, Marion, Luke and Leni along with many other extended family members. He was sadly predeceased by his first wife Mae Cuillerier (Umphress) in 1996 as well as his parents, brother and sister. Maurice was born on July 26, 1928 in Kapuskasing, Ontario, and relocated to the Montreal/Rosemere area in 1954 where he raised his 4 children. Maurice was a long time employee of Lennox Industries and he moved to the United States for them in 1978 and worked in Kansas City, Atlanta, Tampa and San Antonio before moving back to Canada to Kelowna, B.C. in 1994. Maurice was an avid hockey fan and a lifelong animal lover. Maurice will be sadly missed by all of his family and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations to the SPCA or the Canadian Cancer Society would be gratefully appreciated. Service will be held at Trinity Baptist Church in Kelowna, B.C. February 3, 2018 at 1 P.M. followed by interment at Kelowna Memorial Park Cemetery.

So sorry to hear that Maurice passed away - I lived in Kapuskasing and I knew the Umphress family there and I wanted to pass on my condolences to the family, I'm sorry I didn't know that they had moved to Kelowna as I live here as well, Smiley Nelson.
