CLARK, Jody Don

CLARK, Jody Don

A much loved father, grandfather, son and brother, Jody Don Clark, 66 of Kelowna, BC passed away suddenly on January 25, 2019 in Langley, BC.

Jody is survived by his grandchildren Pathe Major, Charlotte, Melissa and Vanessa Selka, his three children Crystal (Dirk) Selka, Heather Clark, and Quinten Clark, his mother Agnes Clark (Coghill), siblings Laura (Raymond) Bowen, and Lon (Diane) Clark, and many cherished cousins, nieces, and nephews. Preceded in death by his father, Don Clark, and his beloved four-legged co-pilot, Jack.

Jody was born in London, Ontario on St. Valentine's Day, 1952. He grew up in Southern Ontario enjoying days at the beach with his mom and siblings and his father taught him how to hunt and fish. He accomplished many great things in his time here on Earth, and traveled many avenues in order to do so. Businessman, salesman, skilled tradesman, head honcho, hobby farmer, and entrepreneur were but a few of the ways he applied himself professionally. His character was such that it is not easily defined with mere words; a rebel, a rambler, a political animal. An advocate, an understanding ear. Brash, brazen and boisterous, yet an incredibly kind and gentle soul. He moved out west at a young age to find a place to build his dreams, and someone to share them with. He started his family in Edmonton, Alberta where he opened his own business called Clark Electro Coatings and spent the early to late 80

Around the corner I have a friend,

In this great city that has no end,

Yet the days go by and weeks rush on,

And before I know it, a year is gone.

And I never see my old friends face,

For life is a swift and terrible race,

He knows I like him just as well,

As in the days when I rang his bell.

And he rang mine but we were younger then,

And now we are busy, tired men.

Tired of playing a foolish game,

Tired of trying to make a name.

"Tomorrow" I say! "I will call on Jim

Just to show that I'm thinking of him",

But tomorrow comes and tomorrow goes,

And distance between us grows and grows.

Around the corner, yet miles away,

"Here's a telegram sir," "Jim died today."

And that's what we get and deserve in the end.

Around the corner, a vanished friend.

To the family of Jody. I knew Jody from his days in Strathroy. His Dad and my Dad were good friends.

I remember when Amanda was in hospital with a broken jaw and Crystal wanted Jody to bring her immediately when she heard. Jody brought Crystal & insisted that we leave the girls alone & took me, the basket-case mother for a much needed beer at the Pheasant and Quail. It was a most pleasant distraction & he was so kind to do that! He will indeed be missed. R.I.P. Jody. To Crystal, Heather & Quinten, you will always have great memories to hold close.

    XO from Jayne and Don

The last conversation we had was on Christmas Day, you sounded really happy. I never would have imagined I'd never see you again. I miss you so much Dad. You were telling me all about your plans for the future, and you asked me to come visit you. All I said was "we'll see." Well, I see now. Could've, would've, should've, though right? You are loved and missed by so many people, and you left a truly dynamic legacy. I'm proud to be your son. Rest easy now, Pop. I love you.

Jody had an impact on my life. Never without a comeback to any comment given, he showed us how smart and caring of a man he was. Many talents and so much energy . He is greatly missed. Condolences to the family. I enjoyed every conversation I had with Jody over the years. The crew at Rutland Glass (Dave Neuman

We miss you so much Dad. I will never forget all of our road trips together and how you would turn the music way up loud and play air guitar on the steering wheel. You always knew the right things to say and always told me how proud you are of me. I can hear you saying, "Reach for the stars baby girl." You taught us all the meaning of unconditional love. We know you are watching over us, like you always do.

    Love you forever Dad,

    Crystal (your little peanut)
