CHALLENGER, Vera Pearl (nee Lovo)
Nov. 27, 1913 - Mar. 15, 2011

Passed peacefully in her sleep in her 97th year, at Three Links Manor, Kelowna, BC.

Vera was born and raised by Sadie Grace (Payne) and Olaf Lovo in a sod house on a South Sask. farm and made her way to the rest of her life in BC riding the freight trains with her first husband Okie. Vera’s devotion to family and her Norse heritage were central to her life.

Predeceased by brothers Kenneth, Donald and Calvin, sisters Hazel, Helen and Vivian, daughter Darlene and grandson Terry Lee. Survived by siblings Ethel, Norma and Robert, sons Larry Calvin (Marilyn), Kelowna, Alan Challenger (Shirley), Terrace and son in law Gary Stagg, Calgary. Vera’s greatest pleasures were her grandchildren Lawrence Wicks (Theresa), Huston, BC, Kerry Kanester (Tammy), Chilliwack, Teanne, Brian Calvin (Valerie), Port Moody, Scott Calvin (Lisa), Trail and her many grandchildren, great and great-great.

Vera lived life with love, joy, compassion and dedication in her family, friends, work, gardens and travels. She is loved and will forever be in our thoughts, that most wonderful person who touched us all in so many ways with her love and generosity.
