Greg and Barry....I am so sorry to hear of your Dad's passing. My name is Larry Samuels and you were our neighbors when you lived on Montgomery St. in Vancouver in the 1950's We lived across the lane from each other and attended each other's birthday parties. My older brother is Stan. I've actually got pictures of the birthday parties. I remember when you moved to Kelowna in 1961. I still live in Vancouver and would love to reconnect with you guys. I'm on facebook, in my picture I'm holding a little boy on my lap. If you go the 411 site, you can find my phone number. All the best. Larry.

    Barry and Greg,

Condolences on the passing of your father. Al was a wonderful man, a great employer and a friend to everyone he associated with through his business. When I moved to Kelowna in 1987 Al offered me a job at Carter Honda where I remained until the transition to Don Folk Honda. All his employees genuinely enjoyed working for him and it was met with sadness when he decided to sell the business.

    He will be missed.

    RIP Al.

My condolences to Barry, Greg and family.

For several years I worked as a mechanic at Carter Honda. Al Carter was without a doubt the best boss I ever had. One year I became a dancing fool at the Christmas party and from then on Lovisa called me Bo Jangles. Good memories of awesome people.

To everybody in Mr. and Mrs. Carters family's,

Mr C was a gentleman-a natural conversationalist and always interested in what I had to say. Being his and Lovisa's caregiver was a pleasure. We had many laughs together and they made me feel comfortable in their happy home. Thank you to Home Instead Senior Care for putting us together in 2012. Never once did I wish I didn't have to go to work!

    Dear Carter-Addison family,

In 1985, Al sold me my very first car. My credit union would not give me a loan without a co-signer. I was adamant that I wanted my own loan. Hearing this, your (step) father made a call to his own bank, and I immediately had my loan. Later, because I was moving to Ottawa, I sold my beloved navy blue Datsun B210. I made money on the deal! I remember Al as a generous and caring man. I am sorry for your loss.

To The Carter family, so sorry to hear of Al's passing it is always hard when one of the good "guys" leave us. Even though our families were in the same industry for many years, both my Father Archie and myself had nothing but pure admiration for Al and the way he ran his business, always looking after his customers and staff, Al even started his Carter Pontiac in our original building at Lawrence and Pendozi (not a spelling mistake). Although Al retired many years ago we always stayed in touch.
