CAMPBELL, James (Jim) Franklin Ivens
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our father James (Jim) Franklin Ivens Campbell. He passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 3, 2008 at the Rockyview Hospital in Calgary, AB at the age of 91 years.
Jim is survived by his four children: Melvyn (Anne) Campbell of Celista, BC, Victor (Ann) Campbell of Kelowna, BC, Elena (Keith) Garrison of Calgary, AB and Philip (Brenda) Campbell of Kelowna, BC; eight grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Len (Barbara) Campbell and sister Gwen Bouvette both of Kelowna, BC; sister-in-laws Mary Campbell, Pat Arduini and Clara Arduini; as well as numerous nieces and nephews and many cherished friends. He was predeceased by his wife Nellie in 2004 and also one grandchild Leah.
Jim was born in Kelowna February 15th, 1917 and was a pioneer in the electrical field, helping to bring the first radio and television stations to Kelowna. For many years Jim had his own radio and appliance repair business. He then went on to become a cold storage operator and electrician with Okanagan Packers Co-op until his retirement in 1980. We will miss our father greatly but his love for us is never ending and now he and Mum are together again.
Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers at the Chapel of Springfield Funeral Home, 2020 Springfield Road, Kelowna, BC, Friday, July 11, 2008 at 7:00 p.m.. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at Immaculate Conception Church, 839 Sutherland Ave., Kelowna, BC on Saturday, July 12, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. with interment to follow at Kelowna Memorial Park Cemetery.
A gift in living memory of James will be made to “Hospice Care” by Springfield Funeral Home.
