BROWN: Evelyn Eileen (nee Dwyer), born February 5th, 1924, beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away peacefully on June 6th, 2011 after a brief battle with pneumonia.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Don, who passed in 2002. She leaves to mourn: sister Ethel; sons Jim (Pat), Grant, Gordon (Maureen), Don (Karen) and daughter Lois (Ray); grandchildren Andrea, Jayne-Leigh, Matt, Jennifer, Jaclyn, Meredith, Kate, Ainsley, Spencer, Mitchell and Erin; great grandchildren Cameron, Sarah, Piper and Max.

Ev was born in Trail and graduated from Vancouver General Hospital School of Nursing prior to marrying and raising her family in Vancouver. In 1967, she began working outside the home as a Public Health nurse for the City of Vancouver. Ev was always active-golfing, playing bridge, walking, hosting family visits and staying involved with her sorority, Beta Sigma Phi, for almost sixty years. She moved to Kelowna in April 2010 to be closer to her family. Ev will be forever loved and dearly missed by all her family.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, June 18th, 2011 at Dunbar Heights United Church, 3525 West 24th Avenue, Vancouver, with a reception following at University Golf Club, 5185 University Boulevard, Vancouver.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Canuck Place Children’s Hospice Society.
