BROUGHTON, Morag Margaret (nee Bell) - Passed away peacefully at home on January 31, 2012.
Morag was born in Edmonton on May 8, 1918 to John and Jessie Bell and grew up in Edson Alberta. Predeceased by her husband Frederick William (Bill) and sister Maureen. She is survived by her loving daughter Sandra Seonaid Broughton, sister-in-law, nieces and nephews.
She trained as a nurse at St Paul’s hospital (1942), served in the Canadian Army as a nurse during WW11, and obtained her BASc in nursing from UBC (1950). She had a fulfilling career in public health in Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver and retired in 1983 as an administrator from the Vancouver Health Department. Five years ago she moved to Kelowna to be nearer her daughter. The joys of her life were traveling, gardening, baking, playing bridge, entertaining, music, hockey and her daughter. She will be remembered for her spirit, sense of fun and her love of life.

A celebration of Morag’s life will be held on Saturday February 11, 2012 at 11:00 am at First United Church, 721 Bernard Avenue, Kelowna, BC.
