BRADSHAW, Irene May (Skeet)

With sadness in our hearts we announce the passing of our dear mother, Irene. She passed away peacefully in her sleep in the early hours of Friday January 20 after 96 amazing years.

Mom was born November 11, 1920 in Ardleigh, England. At age 5 she immigrated to Alberta, Canada with her parents, sister Peg and brother Lionel. She was the eldest of 10 children.

While mom was nursing in Golden, BC she met our father Bill Bradshaw, they were later married in Calgary, Alberta. They moved back and forth from Golden to Field where they started their own family. Later moving into Revelstoke to complete raising a family of 6. Mom and Dad retired in Lake Country, B.C.

Mom was predeceased by our Dad March 21, 1988 and later her 2 brothers Allister and Lionel Skeet. Mom will be lovingly remembered by sister Peg Tucker, brother Allan, Roy, Gerald, Edgar, Gordon and Les Skeet. Son James Bradshaw and daughters Sylvia (Jim) Mayne, Sharon (Terry) Fleming, Carol (Derek) Thompson, Judy (Brian) Wright, Sandra (Peter) Middleton, 10 loving grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and one great great grandson.

Grateful thanks are extended to Dr. Penny, Dr. Loucks and the amazing nurses and staff at Cottonwoods where mom resided for the past 5 years. Mom had an indomitable spirit which coupled with her faith sustained her through the storms of life. She tended to things that were important in life and that had a purpose and intention. She touched our lives and will remain in our hearts forever.

A celebration of life will be held on June 10, 2017 at 3:00 pm at The Cathedral Church of St. Michael and All Angels. 608 Sutherland Ave. Kelowna, BC. Reception to follow. Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting www.everdenrust.com 250-860-6440

Your mom was a bright star to all around her. I had the privilege of getting to know her while working at Lake Country Manor. Her humour, gentleness and kindness were gifts to all who knew her. Sorry for your loss.

Dear Bradshaw family, so sorry for your loss of a dear sweet lady. I got to know Irene at Cottonwoods where I volunteer....such a lovely lady. Always smiling with a twinkle in her eye. I had her out shopping many times which was very much enjoyed, as well she enjoyed lunch outings and entertainment....(she so loved singing) Irene, you will be missed immensely....Rest in Peace my little friend.
