BISTRICKY , Brandy Alida (1973-2017)

BISTRICKY , Brandy Alida (1973-2017)

Our beautiful angel was called by God during her 43rd youthful year to watch over the many she
cared about. Brandy was very special to many ... notably to her husband Derek Bistricky and her
two children Schyla & Brandon Courtorielle.
Her beginnings gave a clear signal that she would be one-of-a-kind, as likely the first baby born in
a helicopter in Canada (near Whitehorse, Yukon) on December 23rd 1973, by her mother Reta Derkson. The youngest of her two sisters (Sherry Halushka & Tanya McKen), she faced loss early
in life with the passing of her father George Halushka, and her eldest sister Sherry (both far too early to cancer). So, when Brandy, the girl that loved angels & teddy bears, and showed compassion for others even when she suffered from brain cancer, passed away on April 11th 2017
at 7:55pm PST in Kelowna B.C. , the world lost a true free spirit blessed with a love for tradition, to the heavens above.
This beautiful and kind soul will be remembered and never forgotten ... on Friday, April 21st from 3-4pm, visitation is provided at Everden Rust Funeral Services in Kelowna B.C. On the next day
(Saturday April 22 nd), her formal funeral service at the Corpus Christi Parish (750 Rutland Road North) at 12:15pm, will commence and everyone is invited to attend. Following the funeral
service, a Reception will be held nearby, at the hall of Rutland United Church (1370 Rutland Road North) from 2pm to 4:30pm.
Donations, on her behalf, should be provided to the Corpus Christi Parish and/or the Brain Tumour Foundation Of Canada.
All your friends & family will miss you deeply Brandy. Thank you for being you ....

So sorry to hear of Brandy's passing. Much love to all her family and friends. She was a special lady and treated my sons like one of her own when they were little and she cared for them when they attended the Rutland Community School afterschool program. I will always remember how she was always happy and always made us all smile.

So sorry to hear about your loss of a very special person. She will be dearly missed. A long time ago she taught my daughter in door soccer. Her laughter filled the gym. Everyone loved her as a coach. May she rest in peace. God be with the family.

Dave and I are sorry we are so far away and won't be there today. Our memories stretch back almost 15 years or maybe even 16. All of those memories will be cherished not just us but our children who Brandi practically helped us raise. Her joy in life and faith in God were infectious.

    Schyla, Brandon and Derek,

Our most sincere love and sympathy to all of you. Brandy was definitely a free spirit full of love and compassion for everyone she met. She met everyone with a bright and beautiful smile each time she saw you. Brandy was the true meaning of "let you light shine"; she never gave up on anyone and had tremendous faith in humanity and God. She met each challenge with the most positive attitude and put others at ease during her tough times. I know you all have many happy memories that will carry you through this tough time of celebrating Brandy's life (because that is what she would want - celebrate her life in the biggest way you know!)

    Much love,

    Dale and Suzanne Fish

Brandy's joyful positive outlook through good times and bad were always something that I admired about her. Her gift was to make everyone she met feel special and valued. My daughter and I both hold special memories of her and our heartfelt sympathy goes out to her family, and especially Derek, Schyla, and Brandon. Your loss is profound. I hope that the memories that you have and the resilience she fostered will give you strength as you move forward. I know that she believed that she would be a part of your lives, whether on this earth or from the heavens above. I pray that is true. Huge hugs and love from Lorrie and Jeanette Strebel.
