BIFFORD, Robert (Bob)

BIFFORD, Robert (Bob)

Bob passed away March 24, 2020 at the age of 73 in St. Paul’s Hospital, Vancouver after a valiant 4 year battle with kidney failure. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Linda (Loseth); his children Steven and Lindsey; grandchildren Jason, Reuben, Jayd, Mia; great grandchild Logan; his siblings Dave (Judy) Bifford, Joan McCormick, Don Bifford, Alan Bifford, and Maureen (Stan) Roberts. He will also be missed by his in-laws, Ray & Diane Loseth, David & Marilyn Kornell, and Richard Forner, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Emil and Paula Bifford, sister Annelaine Forner and in-laws Dale McCormick and Jane (Bauer) Bifford.

Bob was a kind and gentle man. He had an unfailingly happy and friendly disposition. He made new ‘best’ friends wherever he travelled. All were greeted with a welcoming smile and often a hilariously funny and apt nickname.

Bob lived an active and diverse life which included his hobbies: anything related to fishing, hunting, camping and cars. He loved his annual fishing trip into Bella Coola with friends and his grandson, Jason, at the helm of his boat. He was always happy to get into his 56 Chevy for a car event or a trip with friends.

Bob was usually self employed. He worked as a trucker, paving supervisor, opened a sports store, a truck wash, a fertilizer plant and a waste disposal business. He loved and excelled in all his endeavours.

We are going to miss our ‘best’ friend, a really nice guy.

A life well lived....Rest In Peace Bob.

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.”

‭‭Galatians‬ ‭5:22-23‬ ‭

Family would like to thank the Team (now friends) at St. Paul’s for their consistent, excellent and compassionate care during Bob’s illness. You could not have done more for Bob. Thank you.

Celebration of life when it is safe to do so. Stay safe.

The last time I was with Uncle Bob, it was summer at mom & dad’s playing crib. He was my partner playing Dad & Lee. As a Bifford, you better know what you’re doing at cards. Bob’s hehehe as we thumped them, well, you know. I can hear it now.

I think the last time him & dad played, and it will probably bring a smile to both of their faces, Bob skunked him. What a way to go, skunking your older brother. I will miss you in my life and I think of you every day Auntie Linda.

    All my love

Bob was always so friendly and kind (well..... sometimes cheeky) I didn’t know him for long however I know he was a wonderful, strong, loving man that fought so bravely, with you always by his side. May he rest now. Sending you love, peace and positivity. Jeanette

    Dearest Linda & Family,

We were deeply saddened to hear of Bob’s passing. We’ll never forget your winter trips to the California desert. Bob, with his jovial personality & love of cars, instantly connected with my husband & all the guys in our garage. Whether it was cars, or welding projects....or anything, Bob had knowledge of it all! That friendship & bond lasted several years. When Bob could no longer travel, the phone conversations continued on a regular basis. There is a deep hole in our heart. We love you Linda, & may God give us all, strength to carry on. With our Love, Melinda & Bob Northcott

What can i add to the list of memories we all share of my brother. Bob was an amazing man, he was a mentor, a friend, a man who roll up his sleeves to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. And best of all, Bob had mischief in him and I believe he and his best friend Larry are causing chaos in heaven. Rest In Peace Bob, love you and will forever miss you. Don.
