BERGER, Rosina

BERGER, Rosina

(Sept 16, 1922 - May 26, 2017)

Peacefully, in her own bed, with family at her side, Rosina fell asleep and went to be with the Lord.

Terribly missed by daughter Ursula Pidgeon (Don Pidgeon), son Robert Berger (Joanne), grandchildren Matthew and Kristen Pidgeon; Joe, Katy, Justin and Erica Berger; cousins-in-law Trude Rosenthal, Ingrid Gerry (Richard) and Michael.

Predeceased by her husband of 54 years, Josef Berger, in 2004.

Rosina was born in Troebach, Austria. Her mother died when she was 7 years old and she was raised by her grandparents. She was predeceased by 3 brothers, several half brothers and her cousin Eddi. She worked as a nurse with the Red Cross in Vienna during WW2. In 1955 Rosina and her husband immigrated to Canada. They spent their life together in Ontario, raised 2 children and enjoyed travelling in their retirement years.
Rosina lived with her daughter and son in law and family from 1999 until her death. She moved with them from Ontario in 2010; loved living in West Kelowna, where she would spend hours sitting at the kitchen window, looking out at her beloved mountains, and watching what was happening in the neighbourhood. She enjoyed playing cards and had a sharp and clear mind until the end.

Her life was marked by a deep faith in God. She was a strong, authentic and gracious lady.
