BATCHELOR, Helen

January 29, 1924 - May 11, 2017

Helen Batchelor (nee Pearson) of Oliver, BC passed away peacefully at home lovingly surrounded by her family on May 11, 2017 at the age of 93 years.

Helen was the mother of Mark (Sue) of Kelowna, Victor (Germaine) of Nanaimo, John (Karin) of Oliver and Gillian of Edmonton. She will be also missed by her thirteen grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren who all adored her. She was predeceased by her brothers Gordon, Fred, and Valentine (Bub) Pearson as well as her dear husband Jim.

Helen was born in Vancouver and raised in the Penticton/Naramata area. After serving in the Second World War effort in Ontario, she married Jim Batchelor of Penticton. They raised their family of four in Castlegar/Blueberry Creek where she worked as a dental assistant. They moved to Oliver for their twilight years. She will be fondly remembered for her great sense of humour, love of playing games, quick wit, strong sense of duty, pragmatic outlook, and providing a stable, secure home for her own children and others. Helen sacrificed a lot to give a lot; her generosity to her family never waivered.
