BARRILL, Ronald (Buddy)

BARRILL: Ronald (Buddy). Sadly Ronald (Buddy) Barrill passed away on October 17th, 2018 at the Kelowna General Hospital. He was born in the Pas, Manitoba on September 3rd, 1931. He leaves to mourn wife Julia, two sisters-in-law Marion and Gerry, two brothers-in-law, John and Cary, nieces Carol, Laurie and Cathy , nephews Larry and Michael . He was predeceased by his parents and four sisters. He served in Korea. December 17, 1956 he married Julia in Winnipeg. In 1957 he went to Fort Churchill to work for department of National Defence. DND phased out of Churchill and Public Works Canada took over and then they closed the base, he was transferred to Yellowknife NT in 1975 with Public Works Canada as Maintence Supervisor for over 600 housing units for DND, RCMP, Indian and Inuit Affairs, Fisheries and Oceans, Health and Welfare, Transport Canada, Environment Canada, and the Post Office. In September 1983, moved to Kelowna. Cremation and no service by his request. In lieu of flowers, if you desire, donations may be made to the Kelowna General Hospital or a charity of your choice. A gathering of family and friends will take place on Wednesday, November 7th, 2018 at 11:00 AM at First Memorial Funeral Services, 1211 Sutherland Ave, Kelowna. Inurnment will follow at Lakeview Memorial Gardens Cemetery (Field of Honor) at 2:00 PM. Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting www.firstmemorialfuneralkelowna.com.
