ARPIN, Marcel Junior Roger Joseph

ARPIN, Marcel Junior Roger Joseph

Marcel Junior Roger Joseph Arpin passed away suddenly on January 24, 2018 at the age of 44.

Marcel is survived by his mother Rita; father Marcel (Sr.); sister Nicole; niece Myah Chernoff; nephew Mathias Chernoff; and numerous extended family and many friends.

He was loved by everybody who knew him, and his infectious smile will be missed. He had a kind heart, was a kind soul, and he will be missed and loved forever.

A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, January 30, 2018 in the chapel of Everden Rust Funeral Services, 1910 Windsor Road, Kelowna, BC

God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.

Living one day at a time;
enjoying one moment at a time;
accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
taking, as He did, this sinful world
as it is, not as I would have it;
trusting that He will make all things right
if I surrender to His Will;
that I may be reasonably happy in this life
and supremely happy with Him
forever in the next.
Amen.

Arrangements are in care of Everden Rust Funeral Services & Crematorium,
West Kelowna Arrangement Centre (250-768-8925).

    Dear Rita and Nikki,

    I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Marcel was a gentle loving soul who always had a bright smile and cheery words whenever I met him. He would always call out, "Hi Mrs. Stewart" and ask about the family and was genuinely interested. He will be missed but be happy in the thought that he brought so much joy to everyone.

    Rest in peace Junior. You are missed!

    To Marcel's family and friends; We are deeply saddened to discover that Marcel, a friend to all, was only afforded 44 years. We both knew Marcel from a young age and recall that confidence and mischief were his endearing chracteristics. Every time we would stop to give him a lift or to chat on the street in Westbank, he would reminisce about his football days with Derrick and fun times working together with Me at Ernie's. "Hey Shoop!" he would call every time. He always wanted to know that we were well and had only a good story, and kind words to share. He was a great athlete and made many friends that he didn't forget about. We will remember him fondly. With condolences, Derrick and Arlene Schuppener

    Dearest Rita & Family,

    I've only known Marcel for a few years now and he was a kind and loving soul who I will miss dearly. I always loved to see Marcel who always had a smile on his face and always thanked me for the pop I bought him a few years ago. He will be greatly missed. My thoughts and prayers are with you. God bless.

    Dear Rita, Nikki and Family:

    My heart is so heavy and sad for your loss. Marcel was such a sweet, caring guy. He was always so respectful and happy to talk whenever we happened to meet in Westbank or when I picked him up hitchhiking from Kelowna to Westbank. He always wanted to talk about our old cat "Stink" and we would have a chuckle. Also remember the soccer days and the boys playing street hockey on occasion at the old house on Paynter Rd. Marcel will always be loved and never forgotten by our family. His life truly did matter to all of us.

    Sincerely, Shirley , Denny and Steve Hall

    Dear Rita, Nicole and family. Tomorrow will be a hard day for all of you. Rita you are like family to Ray and I and of course Derek, Scott and Raymond Jr. We spent so much time together when the kids were young going downhill skiing, baseball etc. and of course going to Pizza Plus at least once a month with the kids. We would go home and play board games with the kids. I have so many good memories. Marcel was a unselfish soul like everyone said he always had a smile and a kind word and loved sports and was good at it. Marcel you will be forever in our hearts and mind we love you. Rest in Peace and we will meet again hugs. Ray and Lynn Pike

    Dear Rita & Family - So sorry for your loss. Remembering the days when I met Marcel when I started working at Pizza Plus. He was quite the character tying to do funny things or saying funny things while working at the grill. He was also sweet and had that smile that everyone loved. He will not be forgotten but sadly missed! Our prayers are with you all. Love Roxy & Marcel

    Dear Rita, Nikki and family, I feel so sad about Marcel. Have good memories of his school days and times we saw him around town (Westbank). He was always friendly, had a big smile on his face and always welcomed us. Many years ago our son, Brian, was in a sport event and ended up with concussion. Marcel stayed at our house overnight to be sure that Brian was okay. I always appreciated that. Marcel was very kindhearted. Thinking of each one of you... May God give you peace and comfort at this time. Marcel will not be forgotten.

    Love,

    Glenna, Rod and family.

    Dear Rita, Nikki, Marcel Sr. & Family, my heart is saddened by this news. I have always considered your family as my second family growing up. Junior was one of my little brothers. We had so many laughs together, he was such a jokester, he had a great sense of humor. I remember many days and nights skiing with him, wrestling, playing hockey, soccer and football. No matter what it was we did he would always play full out! He was two years younger than I but he challenged me athletically with his speed and strength. I always respected his determination at his young age to be at his best and how loyal he was. He played hard and sometimes we would get hurt and Junior would always be the first on the seen with kind and empathetic heart. He cared deeply about people, he wanted what's best for everyone. I hold these memories of him close to my heart because that is who is and always will be to me. His spirit will live forever inside of me and I will carry his determined, kind, loyal and emphatic legacy foreword. Thank you Junior for being that example for me. I love you. Rita, be proud, he touched many hearts. He made a difference in my life, I will never forget him.

    Much love and respect for your family,

    Derek Strachan (aka: Pachal)

    Rita and Nikki...

    Man, I am really blown away to have learned of Marcel's sudden passing! Just as I am really sorry for your loss, Rita the loss of your Son, and Nikki, the loss of your Baby Brother! I pray that you both will find the strength in one another to get through this very sad time. Take Care! Marcel and I had a long and very special bond, and whenever I'd see him in town he'd always remember me! During the warmer months when I'd run into him, we'd go for a stroll or he'd sweet talk me into giving him a ride to Westbank.

    We had our own special way of reminiscing about the good ol' days, including the Fun "Pizza Plus" days! Most times it was as if he was still that little boy with the cute curly locks when he was walking beside me or riding in my truck..I'm sure going to miss driving downtown and not seeing Marcel anymore or hearing him excitingly yell my name.....Marcel, I don't know if you realize it, but you truly are an icon!! You are loved by sooo many, and those who know you are really going to miss you, especially that boyish grin that you always wore upon your face, no matter what you were going through! I hope with your passing that you will be in Absolute Peace and Happier than you could ever imagine...When I see that 1 Star with the really big twinkle, I know it's going to be the twinkle in your eyes!

    Rest In Peace my Friend...

    Sincerely,

    Kim Petretta

    I remember "Junior" from Glenrosa Elementary. A larger than life character even then, and I was always fond of him. I only ran into him once since those days. I could see he was struggling, but he was still positive and still smiling - the Marcel I remembered. He left us too soon, but all we can do is trust in God's purpose for him. Peace on your journey, my friend.
