I have very fond memories of your mother, Sheilagh, as the "front" lady in the front office of KSS. No matter the time of day or year, she was kind, gentle and cheerful; we were privileged to know her.

I too remember Sheila as a wonderful, warm, dedicated colleague at Mount Boucherie. Sheila set an example for us all in that she worked hard, supported everyone around her but never took credit. Well wonderful Sheila, you have your just reward now and you will be missed by many!

So very sad to lose a dear friend, as was Sheila. Her favorite saying, "Oh give me a break." Her favorite song, "I'll Be Seeing You" - always lovely and regal in her turtlenecks, and scarves. Many PJ parties playing games and cards, and drinking wine. Loved our trips to the Island (to see Jack) and N.Van (to see Dorothy). Loved her dinners with crunchy potatoes, and a special Birthday cake made for her sons - and she loved her chocolate covered raisons. Her great knowledge of the English language. She loved carnations. Oh Dear - I loved her and I miss her!

Many hugs to the family, and just know how lucky you were to have her so, so long. She often said "When I cash in my chips"...she knew in her last few years, she would be going on to a better place."

Rest in Peace, Sheila and smile down on your lovely family.

I met Sheila when she worked for the Central Okanagan Bursary and Scholarship Society. She was deeply committed to the organization. She was always willing do anything that would help high school counsellors and students with the applications. On many occasions when I visited her at her home, her dining room table was piled high with applications and for many years she was the mainstay of COBSS. She was a great lady.

Sheila was a really huge part of my life for so many years. She was an amazing mother-in-law, friend and grandmother to our daughters. I'm thinking of all of the Ardley boys and your families, especially today as you celebrate Sheila's life. So hard to say goodbye.

Sheila was a brilliant supporter of students and staff through many years at KSS, and I was privileged to share a lot of those with her. Her patience and cheerfulness were admired by thousands over the years and I am most grateful to have been a witness to and a recipient of her care and generosity. Scott, and John, you always knew what a gracious lady your mother was; also know that you are in our prayers as we honour Sheila and all she did, and all she was.

Dear boys, how sad, I have many fond memories of your mom. Bev and I enjoyed our stay with her when we went out west a few years ago. Your mom and me playing scrabble at five in the morning as we couldn't sleep and she beat me is a fond memory

    Love, June.
