ADAM, Sandra Mae

ADAM, Sandra Mae

Sandra (Sandy) Adam (nee Wiltshire)

It is with much sorrow that we announce the passing of Sandra (Sandy) Adam, who slipped away peacefully with her daughter Cheryl and granddaughter Pam at her side on Monday September 30, 2019 at Lakeview Lodge Care Home in West Kelowna, BC.

Born in 1942 in Calgary, Alberta, Sandy was preceded in death by her brother Roy, her two sisters, Patricia and Barbara, brother in law Keith (Max) Parrish and her husband Dan. She is survived by her children Dan (Gord), daughter-in-law Lorri, Cheryl, Steven, daughter-in-law Allison and James, ten grandchildren, Pam, Kate, Adam, Shannelle, Tate, Blake, Bryce, Ashley, Matthew, Sarah, and nine great grandchildren.

Living overseas and travelling various parts of the world for most of her life with her husband who was in the employ of the Canadian Foreign Service, Sandy lived a very interesting and sometimes challenging life, but one she loved very much. Her adventures meant that while she was based in Ottawa, ON, she spent time on postings in Trinidad, Belgium, Argentina, England, Sri Lanka, Ecuador, Yugoslavia, Bangladesh and Syria, before retiring to Didsbury, AB and then finally settling in West Kelowna BC. She never missed an opportunity to volunteer with clubs and activities wherever she went and brought sunshine and laughter into the hearts of so many around the globe.

A wonderful mother, mother-in-law and grandmother to her family, and an outstanding friend to so many, Sandy will be missed greatly but will live on in our hearts and memories forever.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday October 7, 2019 at 10:00 am at Everden Rust Funeral Home 1910 Windsor Rd. Kelowna BC, followed by burial at Westbank Cemetery at 3200 Elliot Rd. West Kelowna BC at 11:30 am.

Following the funeral, please join the family for a reception celebrating Sandy’s life from 12:30 pm to 2:30 pm at the Holiday Inn West Kelowna at 569 Dobbin Road, BC-97, West Kelowna BC.

The family wishes to thank the team of care nurses and staff at Lakeview Lodge for their compassionate care. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Lakeview Lodge or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.
