Shed destroyed by fire

Update 11 a.m.

Lost in the fire was approximately $10,000 worth of Snap-on Tools and cases handed down by relatives. They were to be used by the homeowner’s son, who is starting trade school next month as a heavy-duty mechanic.

According to the homeowner, fire investigators have been unable to determine a cause for the blaze.

A passing motorist noticed the flames and called authorities.

Members of the Kelowna Fire Department were called out early Tuesday morning to a shed fire on Peck Road.

When crews arrived around 1 a.m., they found the shed already destroyed and concentrated on protecting the surrounding houses.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this time, but investigators will be at the scene today to determine what happened.

Three engines, one rescue vehicle, one command vehicle and a safety officer responded to the scene.

No one is believed to have been injured in the blaze.
