Big bird a no-go on flight

A passenger on a United Airlines flight had her "emotional support peacock" turned away.

The Associated Press reports the airline rejected the bird on Sunday, due to health and safety concerns.

Ventiko, a New York photographer and performance artist, says she bought an extra ticket for Dexter the peacock on the Sunday flight from Newark to Los Angeles.

A United spokesperson said the airline explained its issues with the bird to the passenger three times “before they arrived at the airport.”

Dexter's Instagram account notes his “human friends” will be driving him cross-country.
