Philip Seymour Hoffman dead, 46

The NYPD confirms Actor Philip Seymour Hoffman has died.  

The New York post is reporting Hoffman was found inside a Greenwich Village home on Sunday at 11:30 a.m.

Early reports coming in say he died from an apparent drug overdose. 

Hoffman had previously confessed to having a battle against drugs and had reportedly spent time in a rehab facility in the recent past to deal with heroin abuse.

He is best known for his oscar winning role in Capote.
