Plane makes landing on expressway

New York City emergency officials say a small plane has made an emergency landing on an interstate highway in the borough of the Bronx.

Officials with the city's Fire Department and Office of Emergency Management say the plane touched down Saturday afternoon on the Major Deegan Expressway.

It wasn't immediately clear why the plane landed on the highway.

The highway was closed and emergency personnel were on the scene.
