ENRICO WINERY
Syrah 2008,
Vancouver Island, BC
$19.50
Although Enrico Winery is located near Mill Bay on southern Vancouver Island, the syrah grapes were grown in the sunny Okanagan Valley. The wine is medium-bodied with a lovely dark garnet colour. The nose shows plums, black berries, aromas of sweet oak, vanilla, mocha and tobacco. The palate is a Christmas pudding with plum sauce and soft textured oak. The wine is drinking easily now but could be laid down for a couple of years. 13.7% alcohol.
