Township 7 Rose

Wine: Rosé 2018

Winery: Township 7, Penticton and Langley

Why drink it? A blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, and Petit Verdot from several premium vineyard sites in the southern part of the Okanagan, the first notes on the nose are surprisingly aromatic. Prevalent cranberry and fresh rhubarb followed by watermelon, leading to flavours of strawberries, a very tiny hint of sage, and unexpected body from the addition of the Cab Sauv. Super light in colour, this a pink wine with just enough complexity to inspire some discussion, yet simple to enjoy, even if you’ve shied away from rosé in the past.

Price: $22

Pair with: No need to overthink it, as a nicely chilled bottle will pair well with the patio and a couple of friends, perhaps enjoying a fresh fruit salad – try watermelon and goat cheese. An easy charcuterie platter, cedar-planked salmon from the grill, even rhubarb pie just for fun.

Music pairing: Lifted, Dallas Smith
