Wineries Refined joins cast at Castanet

Editor-in-Chief for Wines Refined, Joyce D Wegner, is thrilled to announce an online partnership with CASTANET — the Okanagan’s premiere online news and information site.
With over 31 million monthly page views, Castanet is ranked first in total page views in the province and third for total minutes spent on site.
“We are thrilled to enhance our online presence by providing ongoing current wine-related content to the pages of Castanet,” states Wegner. “This is fantastic coverage for the wine industry in this province due to the extraordinary exposure that Castanet can provide.”
Along with a myriad of wine-related content on the exclusive Wineries Refined pages on the Castanet site, every wine region of the province will be represented via interactive maps.
“All BC wineries will have a complimentary listing on the map pages,” explains Chris Kearney, Castanet’s general manager. “Enhanced listings will also be available through Wineries Refined and additional display ads will be offered on both sites to further cross-marketing opportunities.”
Kearney admits that although Castanet is primarily a news site, the wine industry is heavily connected to the Internet.
“This is value-added relationship for our millions of users that frequent or pages.” Kearney continues. “We are impressed with the quality of Wineries Refined publication and their commitment to promoting the industry on multiple levels.”
Positioned as the premiere wine touring publication in the province, this new online partnership is another phase of growth for Wineries Refined. With international print distribution through 22 of Air Canada’s Executive Maple Leaf Lounges, Wineries Refined mandate is to introduce international and national travelers to the uniqueness of each of the province’s wine growing regions.
“Since we started this program in October 2011, over 6,000 of our magazines have left the lounges in the hands of qualified travelers from places like Toronto, Ontario, London, England, Paris, France, and Los Angeles, California.” Wegner says. “That translates to 1000/direct wine industry connections per month. We are extremely proud of that. And now with our partnership with Castanet we are thrilled to introduce our publication to millions of online readers.”
The magazine has also secured co-op marketing dollars for the members of three of the province’s regional tourism organizations including Thompson Okanagan Tourism Association, Vancouver Coast & Mountains, and Tourism Vancouver Island — a great savings for advertisers.
