We've had work done
It took 15 years to get here - and Castanet was beginning to show her age. Time for a facelift. Cluttered pages? Toast. Orphaned white-space? Banished. Redundant menus? Redundant. Today's new Castanet is cleaner, consistent, & more spacious. Troy, Laurentiu, Tim, Darren, & Robin worked for more than a year to marry form and function. We rounded our edges, and chose the classic Optima font as the new house typeface. Ultimately it's what's inside that counts, but we hope you'll find that our new look still sets us apart from the crowd.
The same but different
Castanet still has 12 main drop-down menus - but now BC, Canada, & World are front & center for easier access. Automall, RVPowersports & Flyers haven't gone away - they've just quietly slid themselves over into Classifieds+. The Media section has gone - but Cams & Photo Gallery survive nicely in Community. The Masthead Search Box was immovable - but now it's simpler to use for a Castanet or Google search. And that's about it for what's different - but still the same. Incidentally, we should remind you that not all improvements may show up, depending on age or your particular browser.

A third more, actually. Bigger too, and from all over. Like BC, Canada, World, Business, Sports,Showbiz - so you're up to date with just one look. We've added thumbnail photos in the main menu drop-downs, and a brand new, good-looking interface in Your Photos for easier navigation. Our best shot(s) yet.

We're here! A new dedicated site for the North Okanagan. Most of you up here will find the switch automatic (the wonders of geo-targeting), but anytime, anywhere, you can toggle back & forth in the Masthead to check Kelowna OR Vernon news, weather, videos, movies, events, classifieds & even local advertising. And in Vernon, starting now, whatever it takes, Castanet's Manager Leah Riley is there for you.

Classified. Search is 'way better. More "global". Looking for 'radios' but don't want lists of unrelated items? Done. We added a new 'most relevant' option as well. Want to remind yourself of all subcategories in a main category? Just hover - there they are. Castanet has 'ad of the day' with photos - right in its own section. New 'bread crumb' directories are here, so you always know where you're at. The ad display page shows bigger photos, with thumbnails right next door. And we've increased the total number of main categories in Classified from 18 to 20.
