Taste of Japan & VAFF

A few days ago the Kelowna-Kasugai Sister City Association hosted "A Taste of Japan". A sampling of all things Japanese. If you haven't had a chance to discover our sister city connection, head down to Kasugai gardens when you're downtown one day to discover just one of the benefits that this partnership has brought to Kelowna. On the other hand if you ever get a chance to visit Kasugai feel free to take a stroll on Kelowna Boulevard where you will find a 1/3 scale model of the sails. I also want to introduce you to Mandy Ross who is our newest "What's On?" correspondent. Here is her feature on the recently concluded 15th annual Vancouver Asian Film Festival.

Company Overview	The Vancouver Asian Film Festival Society (VAFF) is a not-for-profit organization that provides a forum for independent North American Asian filmmakers to showcase their work to both Asian and non-Asian audiences.
Mission	To foster an understanding and appreciation of today's independent North American Asian filmmakers, while providing a springboard to larger film festivals. The society endeavors to represent the often ignored North American Asians caught between two cultures. The Vancouver Asian Film Festival Society will provide a cultural bridge between the Asian and non-Asian communities as well as the Asian communities themselves.
