Sugar Skull Strut

I’m still utterly blown away by how many Halloween events there are this year. When did Halloween turn into a full two weeks of activities?

For an exhaustive listing of Halloween events check out my column last week HERE.

The one that I’m most looking forward and thought deserved a column of its own is the Sugar Skull Strut. Its an event that will feature a feast for the senses. Inspired by “Day of the Dead”, a Mexican festival that honors past souls and loved ones this celebration will feature Locarno (a band worth the price of the ticket alone), a Mexican market, costume strut prizes, Kinshira performance troupe, photo booth, and much more.

Here are a couple videos to give you a better idea of what to expect:

The SUGAR SKULL STRUT happens Friday November 1st at the Rotary Centre for the Arts and goes from 8pm-midnight

Its a 19+ event and tickets are $25 advance $30 day of event. Tickets at www.selectyourtickets.com

Talented Kelowna:
Outside of the Halloween vein we are hosting in the semi-finals of Talented Kelowna on Friday. It was crazy last week. The venue was packed and we had over 18 acts audition.
I think that deserves repeating, over 18 acts.  So now we have our top 10 (actually top 11 as we allowed three acts through last week) and they will be performing at the semi finals this Saturday.
The show starts at 8:00pm but if your going I'd strongly advise making a reservation as there wasn't a seat in the house last week. Call #(250) 765-8956 to book your seat.
Here is a quick sampling of the talent that came out last week.
All of this will culminate at the Kelowna Community Theatre on Nov 7th featuring the top 3 Talented Kelowna acts, a sampling of our Talented Kids, and my band performing on stage.
Tickets are now on sale for this show for $15.  https://creativeokanaganshowcase.eventbrite.ca
