Future Shop, shown here when it first closed its doors, was the site of an attempted break-in this week
Thieves didn't make much headway as they attempted to break into the now closed West Kelowna Future Shop location.
The store shut down last week as part of a Canada-wide restructuring by parent company Best Buy.
According to police, officers came across the break in in progress shortly after 5 a.m. Wednesday.
The would be thieves sped away in a van before they could be apprehended.
Police located the van a short time later, on its side, on Angus Drive at Harding Road.
The vehicle was empty when police arrived, the suspects having fled on foot.
A police dog was called in, however, no track was found.
Anyone with information on the attempted break in are asked to contact West Kelowna RCMP at 250-768-2880.
