One man was sent to hospital late Friday afternoon after a two vehicle crash on Highway 97 in West Kelowna.
The crash occurred around 4:30 when a car and van collided head on just south of Grizzly Road.
RCMP Cpl. Bob Courcelles says each vehicle had only one occupant and both were shaken up in the collision.
“Two people were involved and speed was a factor. We’re worried about the extent of the injuries to one of the drivers. He was sent to hospital so we haven’t determined that yet.”
Southbound traffic backed up along Highway 97 as motorists were detoured on to Grizzly Road and on to Old Okanagan Highway to get around the crash site.
The detour remained in effect until around 5:15 p.m.
West Kelowna RCMP are still investigating.
