RCMP continue to investigate the circumstances which led to the death of a pedestrian on Bernard Avenue in Kelowna Friday morning.
The incident happened at about 10 a.m.
Witnesses says the woman was walking across Bernard Avenue from St. Paul Street with the aid of a walker, when a truck came around the corner and hit her.
Police say the woman is in her 50s or 60s.
John Armstrong didn't witness the accident but says his friend Clarence was also crossing the street at the same time.
"He was walking on the walk signal when the truck came and almost hit him as well," says Armstrong.
"The driver of the truck got out and started yelling that they were walking against the walk signal."
There were a number of people in the area at the time of the accident.
RCMP at the scene say they have a number of witnesses to interview.
Police say the driver of the truck is a young Kelowna man.
They say alcohol was not a factor.
The 23-year-old driver was interviewed at the detachment and released.
No charges have been laid.
