Rose Valley evacuation alert expanded

The Emergency Operation Centre advises of one new additional Evacuation alert, notifying residents of the potential danger due to the Rose Valley forest fire.

It would be prudent for residents in the following areas to prepare to leave with very short notice. Those affected areas are:

South of Bear Creek and north of the Rose Valley reservoir

And the following addresses on Bear Creek, Dougmac, Petterson and Rose Valley Roads:

In addition, an Evacuation Order has been issued for the following area relating to the Glenrosa forest fire advising of imminent danger to:

A 161 acre parcel located at DL3494 Highway 97 (Plan KAP88748, Lot A)in the District of West Kelowna. This parcel is located 600 metres west of the Coquihalla/Highway 97 interchange.

Those affected by this Evacuation order should proceed to the Emergency Social Services reception centre established at the Peachland Community Centre at Beach Avenue and 6th in Peachland and register to receive assistance with food, shelter and clothing.

Emergency Social Services requests all residents affected by evacuation orders to register in person at the Royal LePage Place reception centre (2760 Cameron Road) in order to receive food, lodging, clothing any any other services.

At this time, Emergency Social Services asks that no further donations of water be made to the Royal LePage Place reception centre. Thank you for all who have contributed.
