Rose Valley evacuation expanded

The evacuation area has been expanded for properties affected by the Rose Valley Reservoir fire. The fire at midnight had grown to approximately 30 hectares in the McDougall Rim trails area of the west side of the reservoir.

Residents in the following areas are now evacuated and asked to report to the Emergency Social Services reception centre at Royal LePage Place in the Mount Boucherie complex at 2760 Cameron Road:

Residents that have been evacuated and unable to report to the centre for registration may contact the Emergency Social Services Reception Centre by phone at 778-797-2269.

These areas list below remain on evacuation alert due to the 300 hectare fire burning in the Glenrosa Gellatly Road area:

This evacuation alert affects mostly agricultural area and approximately 300 homes.

So far more than 4,500 homes have been evacuated, affecting over 10,000 people.

Residents with livestock or other animals in the evacuation alert areas should consider an emergency plan for their animals. Care facilities have been notified and are preparing to evacuated if required. At 11 p.m. the fire was confirmed to be 300 hectares.
