ORIGINAL: Sept. 1, 8:35 p.m.

Firefighters doused a vehicle fire behind a West Kelowna business Sunday evening.

A minivan went up in flames behind Sunrise Trailer Sales at Highway 97 and Bartley Road shortly after 6 p.m.

Enroute, fire crews were advised the fire was spreading to the building.

When they arrived, they found the vehicle and building on fire, says Fire Chief Jason Brolund.

The vehicle had left the highway and came to rest against the building before catching on fire. A single patient was cared for by paramedics.

They were successful in keeping the fire outside of the building, and additional crews were called in from the Glenrosa and Rose Valley fire halls.

Fire crews will remain on scene tonight to ensure the fire is completely extinguished, says Brolund.

BC Ambulance, RCMP and BC Hydro crews also attended the scene.
