RCMP are investigating a shooting south of Peachland that sent one man to hospital.
Shortly before 6 p.m. Sunday, police were called for reports of gunfire outside a home on the 7200 block of Highway 97.
Emergency responders found an adult male with a lower body gunshot wound.
“Although the man’s injuries are not believed to be life threatening in nature, there could have been a very different outcome,” says Cpl. Jesse O’Donaghey.
“Early indicators suggest that the incident was isolated in nature, and police do not believe that the general public is at further risk."
The suspect was described to police as seen wearing a black T-shirt and had his face covered.
The West Kelowna RCMP's General Investigation Section has assumed conduct of the investigation.
