Unplanned gets 3rd show

The Kelowna Right to Life Society has secured a third showing of the controversial movie 'Unplanned.'

Society executive director Marlon Bartram says a third screening of the movie will be shown July 31 at the Xtreme 8 theatre in West Kelowna.

A Monday screening sold out in just nine minutes.

Tickets for the July 31 show go on sale at 7 p.m. tonight.

The movie has sparked controversy on both sides of the abortion issue.

Pro-life groups have complained the country's two largest movie theatre chains, Cineplex and Landmark, are showing 'Unplanned' on just a few screens.

Pro-choice groups have been lobbying theatres not to play the movie, which is based on the true story of a Planned Parenthood director in Texas.

The Salmar Theatre in Salmon Arm has cancelled plans to screen the movie after receiving threats.

The Towne Theatre in Vernon plans to run the movie for a week, beginning Friday.
