Car consumed by flames

A car driving up Boucherie Road in West Kelowna caught fire Thursday.

At about 3:20 p.m., flames began pouring from the hood of the black Nissan Altima, as snow fell from the sky.

The driver pulled into the driveway of Grizzli Winery before the flames overtook the car.

A witness in the area says someone from the winery brought out a fire extinguisher to help, but it wasn't enough to stop the spread of flames.

West Kelowna Fire Rescue arrived on scene and put out the blaze.

“I felt very bad for the woman whose car went up as she mentioned she had quite a few possessions inside the vehicle,” said the witness.

It's unclear what caused the fire.
