Wanna be a firefighter?

North Westside Fire Rescue is holding an open house Jan. 22 to recruit new members and provide an opportunity for residents to see what they do.

The event takes place from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Killiney Beach fire station (514 Udell Rd.).

Meet the firefighters, learn more about what they do, and the training involved, and check out the equipment.  You can even try your hand at some firefighting skills.

Anyone thinking about joining the paid-on-call department can get their questions answered, and application forms will be available.
