Water advisory lifted

A water quality advisory for customers on the Lakeview Water System has been lifted.

The City of West Kelowna lifted the advisory after testing showed turbidity levels have returned to below 1.0 NTU at both the source and within the distribution system.

Decreased turbidity at the source also means a boil water notice for both Sunnyside and West Kelowna Estates systems have been downgraded to a water quality advisory.

Customers on the Pritchard Water System remain on a boil water notice.

A boil water notice means all users should bring water to a rolling boil for at least a minute before consumption.

A water quality advisory means children, the elderly and people with weakened immune systems should use boiled water or find an alternative water source.

Free water is still available for people in West Kelowna and Westbank First Nation at the bulk filling station at Shannon Lake and Asquith roads.
