Millie Moose moseying

Alanna Kelly

Millie the Moose was spotted moseying around West Kelowna on Wednesday.

She was seen numerous times in West Kelowna around Springer Road and also Brown Road.

Jessica Gomez said she was watching the Ellen DeGeneres show when she peered outside and noticed the large four legged animal.

“I looked out the window and Millie was staring inside,” she said. “I guess she is a fan of Ellen too!”

RCMP arrived shortly after and tried to guide the moose out of the residential area.

“She seemed to evade the authorities once again and continue on her adventure in residential West Kelowna,” said Gomez.

Castanet has reached out to conservation officers numerous times and are awaiting a response about the moose.

A resident who saw Millie earlier in the day expressed concern for the moose saying “she looks sad, I hope she’s OK?”

Millie was cruising through the drive-thru DQ in West Kelowna yesterday and found inside Buckerfield’s Country store inside their warehouse on Main Street.

Back on February 13, Millie was aggressive towards a dog in the backyard of a home on Yorkton Road.

Residents are being reminded to not approach the moose and should report sightings to conservation officers.
