5 cars crash, no injuries

UPDATE: 2 p.m.

A witness on the scene said the accident involved five cars.

"There were four that smashed into each other and a fifth vehicle went over the embankment  and was sort of on its side a bit. No one was seriously injured, but the black ice was so slippery that vehicles were sliding down the hill so fast that the smashes were quite loud and airbags were deployed.
People were running out of the way to avoid being hit," Danielle Anderson said.

UPDATE: 12:05 p.m.

West Kelowna firefighters attended a multi-vehicle crash on Boucherie Road, north of Stuart Road Sunday morning which was likely due to slippery conditions.

"It was a  minor MVA," said Fire Captain Trevor Bredin. "There were icy conditions in the shade, people were slipping."

Bredin said no one was injured.

He said part of Boucherie Road remained closed to drivers while the highways department sanded the road.
