Smoke in the air

There's going to be smoke in the air around West Kelowna for the next few days.

Tallus Ridge says it will be conducting open burning of several slash piles in the Shannon Lake area for the next couple days.

"Tallus Ridge conducted a significant amount of fuel reduction (fire mitigation) to facilitate the development of a subdivision," said the company. 

"The fuel reduction was required by the City of West Kelowna in order to make the community safer and reduce the risk of wildfires."
