UPDATE

An employee at Thai Fusion has started a GoFundMe campaign to support the restaurant.

ORIGINAL

For the umpteenth time, the owners of Thai Fusion are dealing with business-altering vandalism.

The business has been forced to close its doors once again after vandals targeted the outside and interior of the West Kelowna restaurant in what RCMP are calling an attempted arson.

West Kelowna RCMP were advised at 2 a.m. of a commercial alarm at the restaurant located on Louie Drive.

Const. Jesse O'Donaghey says emergency crews arrived on scene to find that the business was no longer locked and that the sprinklers were activated as the interior fire suppression system had been triggered.

“RCMP continue their investigation into what appears to be the latest targeted attack against this local business,” says O’Donaghey.

“Investigators encourage anyone with any information to come forward or call Crime Stoppers as you may have a key piece of information.”

The scene, which has sustained extensive damage mainly due to water, has been secured by the RCMP.

Fire investigators with both the RCMP and West Kelowna Fire Department plan to examine the scene today, along with the RCMP’s Integrated Forensic Identification Section.

Anyone with any information is urged to contact the West Kelowna RCMP at 250-768-2880. Or remain anonymous by calling Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477, leaving a tip online at www.crimestoppers.net or by texting your tip to CRIMES (274637) ktown.
