Surveillance video of what appears to be a would-be thief has unnerved a group of Okanagan residents.
Residents of the Smith Creek neighbourhood on the Westside have been sharing and commenting on the surveillance video posted to social media.
The video shows a man riding a bicycle up to a house in the area in the middle of the night on Sept. 14 and attempting to break in.
It was posted by a Smith Creek resident who owns a surveillance and security company, and it has been shared more than 330 times.
"That is disturbing, thank you for sharing," commented the residents' association.
Some pointed out the man appears at one point in the video to throw a gun into the bushes.
"Annnnnd this is why I have dogs with loud mean barks! And guns in the house... I wouldn't hesitate to protect myself or my family either," wrote one resident.
The video has been shared with police.
