Forum focuses on culture

Voters in the Central Okanagan-Similkameen-Nicola riding have a chance to hear from their candidates first hand at an all candidates forum taking place Sept. 26.

The Sukwtemsqilxw West Kelowna Arts Council is presenting the Arts and Culture All Candidates Forum to take place 2-4 p.m. during Westside Culture Days at The Heritage in West Kelowna at 3630 Brown Rd.

All four candidates have indicated they will attend. This includes NDP candidate Angelique Wood, incumbent Conservative candidate Dan Albas, Liberal candidate Karly Scott and Green candidate Robert Mellalieu.

“Attendees will have the chance to get to know each of these interesting people, one of whom will be our federal representative as a result of the coming election,” says Julia Trops, Sukwtemsqilxw West Kelowna Arts Council chair.

Afterward, the forum candidates will be invited to meet and greet the public in a non-formal setting.

Candidates from the Kelowna-Lake Country riding have also been invited to attend.

“This Arts and Culture Forum is non-partisan, and each candidate will have the opportunity to give opening remarks, answer five questions relating to art and culture, and then closing remarks,” says Trops.

Everyone is welcome to attend, but seating is limited – free reservations can made by clicking here.
