Harper to visit fire scene

Prime Minister Stephen Harper will visit the Okanagan today to tour the front line at the Shelter Cove wildfire.

In a release from the federal government this morning, it announced Harper and Premier Christy Clark will briefly stop by the wildfire incident command post on Westside Road this afternoon to thank the men and women fighting the fire.

Clark was already on the front line thanking firefighters on Wednesday.

Harper's arrival at Shelter Cove is expected at 3:40 p.m.

Castanet News will update the story from the scene.
